The artwork of Singapore-based artist Keng Lye may easily pass for some awesome photos of sea creatures – except that they’re not photos, but 3D paintings! The title of this series is “Alive Without Breath”. Keng Lye uses paint and resin on creating these amazing 3d paintings of sea creatures. He achieved 3d effects same as a 3d printer. He starts his awesome artworks by pouring a layer of resin into a bowl and paints it with acrylics, layer by layer revealing the sea creature.
His painting technique is same as Riusuke Fukahori, however with a twist. He made his paintings bulge from the surface. He came up with this idea while creating his ranchu and octopus paintings. He tried to include a 3D element (small pebble, and draw something top of it, making it part of the sea creatures body.) This made his artwork appear much more realistic.
